As you may see in the other section of this website, I make music. One of the biggest struggles before releasing a song is wondering 'is it ready?'. Answer really is it never is truly done and a musician can tweak their song endlessly. However, it's always great to get feedback from other musicians and especially when learning how to produce music, it's much easier if you get direct feedback with specific things you can improve. The idea of BeatRater is very simple - provide an intuitive UI with premade categories of feedback on what's working in a song and what could be improved. This type of feedback already happens on music production sub-reddits and Discord channels so it's basically formalizing it as a webapp. People are encouraged to give feedback to gain tokens in return which can then be used to gain feedback on their own songs.
